Use Gigabrain with your agent
Gigabrain is model-agnostic. It works with the agents below through local files and commands, or through its local MCP server.
Choose your agent below, then follow its connection method. You supply the agent, grant access to your chosen files and configure the local setup.
Compatible agents and connection methods
These connection methods apply to System with or without the Loop Pack.
Each entry identifies the workspace and tools your agent needs. For Ollama and Grok, use an agent host that provides file and command access.
On smaller screens, scroll the table horizontally. Keyboard users can focus the table and use the arrow keys.

Connect a command-capable agent
- Open your Gigabrain folder in the agent workspace.
- Give the agent permission to read the folder and run local commands.
- Ask the agent to read
AGENTS.mdandQUICK-START.md. - Follow the setup instructions in your downloaded edition.
- Ask the agent to retrieve an answer from one of your chosen documents.
- Check the cited passage against the original document.
You request retrieval through the agent’s command workflow. Your agent runs Gigabrain’s local tools and uses the returned source passages.
Connect an MCP client
MCP connects your agent to Gigabrain’s search, context and citation tools. The local server runs in your Gigabrain environment.
- Complete the local setup in your downloaded edition.
- Install the optional dependencies listed in
tools/requirements-mcp.txt. - Configure your client to launch
tools/gigabrain_mcp.pywith your Gigabrain configuration file. - Enable the tools in your client.
- Approve access through your client’s controls.
- Ask the agent to retrieve a passage from your chosen source.
- Ask the agent to verify the passage with the citation tool.
Claude Desktop uses its local MCP configuration. Use absolute paths to the server, Python environment and Gigabrain configuration.
Connect Claude Cowork
Give Cowork access to the Gigabrain folder through its folder controls. Its execution environment needs persistent folder access and the command tools used by Gigabrain.
- Select your Gigabrain folder in Cowork.
- Ask Claude to read
AGENTS.mdandCONNECT-YOUR-SOURCES.md. - Check the Python runtime and command access in that workspace.
- Follow the connection guide with one document you choose.
- Ask Claude to retrieve a source passage from that document.
