# Typed-link example

This example uses fictional decisions. It demonstrates supported typed frontmatter, not a graph-ledger proposal.

Place the following frontmatter on a derived note named Current budget. The target must match the existing derived note title exactly.

```yaml
---
supersedes:
  - "[[Old budget]]"
---
```

Supporting source: "The current Project Alder budget is 950 dollars. This replaces the earlier budget."

1. Preserve the supporting document.
2. Check that the target note exists.
3. Check the edge direction.
4. Run the shipped graph_edges validator through the documented validation command.
5. Inspect the source behind the relationship.

Reversing this edge would misstate the supplied replacement. A caused edge would add a claim absent from the source. Structural validity does not prove meaning.
